"The universe has been computing since the Big Bang. Every particle interaction is a logic gate. What we call physical law is the universe's program. And if reality is computation, then coordination — entanglement — is not a feature. It is the source code."
OVERVIEW

MIT mechanical engineer who made the audacious argument that the universe is a quantum computer and has been running a program since the first moment of time. His book 'Programming the Universe' established that physical processes are equivalent to computational processes, and that information is not a description of matter — it is matter. He designed early practical quantum error-correcting codes and demonstrated quantum random walks as a universal computational primitive.

WHY THIS VOICE MATTERS TO KNOWWARE
Lloyd provides the deepest possible grounding for coordination intelligence: if reality itself is a quantum program, then the coordination layer — entanglement — is not metaphor but physics. Two-body classical computation strips out entanglement and loses the coordination capacity that makes reality computable. His framework implies that AI missing a quantum coordination layer is not just architecturally limited — it is running on a stripped-down version of the universe's actual substrate.
