COLD OPEN
"Most organizations are designed for control, not learning. The fifth discipline — systems thinking — is the discipline of seeing the coordination patterns that the other four disciplines create. Without it, you are optimizing parts of a system you cannot see."
OVERVIEW

Management theorist who made systems thinking actionable for organizations with The Fifth Discipline. His five disciplines — personal mastery, mental models, shared vision, team learning, and systems thinking — are a coordination architecture for institutional intelligence. He showed that organizational failure is almost always a coordination failure, not a competence failure.

WHY THIS VOICE MATTERS TO KNOWWARE
Senge operationalizes coordination intelligence at the organizational scale. His learning organization is a three-body system: individual capability, shared mental models (the coordination layer), and collective action. His insight that mental models are the leverage point maps directly onto Meadows — the paradigm is always the third body.
